NICK FROST

He had this great other show. You know "Danger! 50, 000 volts!"

Which I'm selling.

Simon Pegg as Rusty is classic classic stuff.

Hi guys and girls,

I'm Fraser, 22, from Scotland. I'm an independent filmmaker and I love all things Spaced, Shaun of the Dead, Family Guy, Red Dwarf, Doctor Who, Angel, Spider-Man, Firefly just to name a few :D

Can't wait for "Hot Fuzz" when it finally comes out and I hope they do another episode of "Spaced".

Bye for now.

3:20 pm - Cult movie

je_androcoen

I'm a new member. I saw Shaun of the dead 4 days ago. In 4 days, i saw it 4 times again:) Great comedy-parody-fanstasy-horror-zombie movie. What can i say! I memorize all the scenes:)
There is a lot of details in the movie. A LOT OF. I'll write them next time.

I don't like comedy movies too much. Month python series, Dr. Strangelove, Amelie, Delicatessen, Punch-Drunk Love,.. i love them. This movie great as them. One of the greatest movies. Simon Pegg is great artists and script writer, Edgar Wright is unbelievable director. It'll be too hard to waiting next movie.

Wow...no one's updated here in a really long time. Well, my name's Kate, I'm kind of new here. I was in England for two weeks last year and saw posters for Shaun of the Dead everywhere. When it was finally released in the US, I got a copy. The DVD extra's are really superb. I really love this movie. It has gore, humor and zombies. Plus, it has Simon Pegg. I love Simon Pegg. All in all, it's really a great movie.

You guys probablly already know this, but Shaun of the Dead was nominated for two BAFTA awards!!! Oh happy day. It was nominated for the Alexander Korda Award for the Outstanding British Film of the Year and The Carl Foreman Award for Special Achievement by a British Director/Producer or Writer in their First Feature Film. Damn American oscars, no nods. But hey, let's all give three cheers for Shaun's british nods! Woot Woot Woot!

I just spent all of Saturday watching "Shaun of the Dead" and all the DVD extras, etc. Now, all I have to do is watch the actors, etc. commentary. AH, life is swell.

And if I hear one more person call Shaun of the Dead "a spoof", I might have to get out my cricket bat and "remove the head or destroy the brain".

Have a sit down?

So close I could lick it! I'm going to the first showing tomorrow! The only thing that bothers me is I know there are those that are either going to love it or hate it. I don't boast about movies but in regard to "SotD" I do boast...boast...boast...boast.

We'll see what my other friends think. I might actually see it a few times tomorrow; in the morning by myself and later in the evening with a bunch of my goons...lovely.

Hey, has anyone seen Simon and Edgar's old show spaced on tv yet? If you haven't you definatly should, its playing on trio now it's friggin awesome. Alot of the Shaun of the Dead actors are there and the humor is dead on.

6:57 pm - Swag of the Dead

adamlazlo
I went to the Lagoon Theater in MPLS to see "Ghost in the Shell 2: Innocense" earlier today and I scored a "Shaun of the Dead" mini poster. They had a stack of them in the lobby ready to be swiped...so...I swiped one...now where to put it in my house?

All the employees were wearing "SotD" t-shirts as well. Of course I asked the ticket guy if he's seen it yet (after I told him, "nice shirt") and he said he had to wait until Friday to see it. Then I went on and on how good it is; blah, blah, blah. Even though I ALMOST missed the opening sequence to "Ghost in the Shell 2" I couldn't help but spread the word...and maybe brag a bit :)

Sooooo close now.

I went to see "Resident Evil II" today...wasn't what I expected, certainly different from the first one and entertaining. The CGI "lickers" looked much better but the slow-mo motion blur shots was pretty annoying (reeks of amature directing--to me at least).

Anyways, after a movie I hit the magazine shop "Shinders" and picked up the new Rue Morgue, some new Clive Barker figures, and "total DVD" which has a SotD DVD review and interview (UK magazine). Lots of good pics.

I'm still waiting for the right time to sit down and read the SotD article in the new Fangoria. I went to the Shaun Squad site today and grabbed some new LJ icons. They don't have many but they're good none-the-less. A friend of mine bought a copy of SotD the other week. I don't know if it's a bootleg, the UK version, or a screener copy but I'm not going to contribute to such a thing...I'm counting the days 'till it's officially released on the big screen and on US DVD.

I guess I never said how or why this community was started, for me at least.

Sullenfish and I went to the Minneapolis screening last month. They spooled the wrong reel 3/4ths of the way through so the movie jumped 15 minutes or more ahead (yes, we were ALL confused) but then they took almost an hour to get it rolling again...it was well worth the wait. I've been hooked ever since; life (err, death...err, after death...) has not been the same.

7:34 pm - Hey I'm new!

cramboggel
Over here in California i've been plugging this Shaun of the Dead so much. I met Simon Pegg and Edgar Wright and they were really nice, and i got pictures with them doing the Winchesters sign "\/\/". The reason i've seen the movie is I have a copy of it from one of my dad's friends and im freaking out waiting for it to come out, so i can watch it a billion more time on the big screen, because its that friggin good. So I joined this group to keep the Shaun of the Dead support going!

8:12 am - Media Frenzy or Lack Thereof

sullenfish
My "inside source" at the University of Minnesota reports no Shaun merchandise available at that most sacred of collegiate gatherings: the dorm room poster sale.

Certainly this will change in years to come as the likeness of Shaun and co. will be at least as familiar amongst our hungry-minded youth as Ash, Alex de Large, ...um... reasons to drink beer... and Gandalf.

1:34 am - SPACED and beyond...

adamlazlo
Yeah......so "SPACED" (the British TV series done pre-SotD) is out on UK DVD later this month...yeah, Sullenfish and I are ore that anxious to see this series for sure. Hopefully considering the SotD UK DVD came out on DVD there'd be a SotD DVD US release plus a SPACED DVD US release that follows after SotD had it's run in the theaters....dammit.

I once bought forign region DVD's like crazy these last few years but have realized that eventually they're going to be released in the US anyway so why waste the extra cash? But dammit, I'm HUNGRY for more! Luckily it's only 17 more days 'till SotD is "officially" released theatrically here in the States so at least Sullenfish and I can get as much of a fix we need before it's off to the dollar theaters before the DVD's come out...HOT DAMN!

I’ve been talking NON-STOP to EVERYONE I know….even my mum about it.

Hey Squadders,

17 more days until the zombie invasion reaches our shores!

In the meantime, the Shaun promo screening tour rolls on! We\'ve hit a ton of cities, but it\'s not over yet! You should check out director Edgar Wright\'s latest blog entry from Austin, Texas if you haven\'t already. There are some great photos in it.

The new polls and trivia are up too, and we\'re asking all of you to vote for your favorite zombie beverage to win some extra pints to add to your stash!

The message boards and chatroom are hopping. Stop by and say hi.

See you on the Squad
